The Tin Tan TalesTechnical NotesAs was the book Frolicsome Flowers, Tin Tan Tales was a book my mother received as a child from a close friend of the family, and Mom handed it down to my sister, who lent me the book to scan for display. The book is made of very thick pages like pressed cardboard, but somewhat brittle. In fact, one leaf has been broken in half (see pages 6 and 7). The condition of the pages varies quite a bit as well. Some pages were scribbled on (not our family's fault, I'm assured), others are fairly clean. I've spent a small amount of time editing out some marks, but there is a lot more work that could be spent on this. All the corners have been worn round, and the laminate nature of the material is evident in how it flakes in worn areas. The original scans are 300 dot per inch TIFF images, and are typically 2,550 x 3,390 pixels in size and take 26MB of disk space. the images on this web site have been resized to 700 pixels high, then compressed into JPEG format. If you run your screen resolution at 1024x768 or greater, and use Internet Explorer with minimal menus (use the F11 key to toggle back and forth), the pages will fit on the screen. You can help!!There are two things that would be nice to have, if you can help:Enjoy! |
