Images from Germany, May, 2002
Some of my ancestors come from the area in and around Berlin. Now that the east has opened (okay.. so it's been a decade), my Dad and I went there to see what it looks like. I also wanted to get a sense of what his childhood playgrounds were like. The more interesting scenic photos are on the site, and the links via the "scenic icon" (
) are active, though the full-fledged scenic set is not yet posted.
The pairs are all 370 pixels per frame (740 for the pair), and the anaglyphs are all large, on the order of 700x1000. Click the thumbnail for the pair, or the anaglyph glasses icon for the anaglyph version. Either way, hover the mouse over what you want to click, and it'll show you the file size.

The ceiling of the Kreuzgang ("Crosswalk", a courtyard of sorts) at the Sankt Stefan church, Mainz. the strange stalagtite feature on the left really isn't missing a pillar.

A relief in the wall of the Kreuzgang. Its primitive style impressed me with a feeling of its antiquity, dating from the 13th century.

While riding in friend Lembke's boat, this house presented itself as picturesque. I think it's the blue, glossy, tile roof. This is in Wernsdorf, SE of Berlin.

This is Washington state, on the flight back. Not Germany, but it was on the trip. I'm fairly certain the prominent mountain is Mt. Baker, east of Bellingham. We're facing west.
